Major tunnel project on Hwy 1

This morning I saw two County employees measuring water flow in the creek

It rained straight for 2 days

It's been raining for three days now

The stream is widening day by day

This is the remains of the second fire. Ferns grew back quickly but most of the trees were destroyed. The rains won't affect level land like this but the first fire scorched steep terrain in the mountains near residential areas and landslides could be a problem there.

The village creek is rising and could swell a lot after the rains pass in a few days. The rainfall was 6 inches below average but this series of storms will make up for it. Landslides could be a problem in the areas burnt by fires last fall.
